Converting a garage into a mancave
This is a walk-through of the high-level steps I took for converting an iron garage into a fully lined clubhouse - or man cave. The clubhouse is insulated and lined with plaster then capped off with skirting boards top and bottom. It uses custom flashings around the exposed trusses and these run along the ceiling to keep bugs, dust, and moisture out.
The flooring is a hybrid floating floor that resists water spills and has a rubber backing. There are two lighting systems, brighter white LED strips running along the trusses then an RGB circuit to control the mood lighting. All lighting and effects are patched through to a switchboard at the front door.
An extension at the end of the clubhouse has also been lined for my son's model railway. There is another film on my channel that details the liquor shelf that runs along the wall behind the bar.
