Modern industrial Hifi cabinet made with iron and resin filled wood
I make a HiFi cabinet for my amp and subwoofer. The style is modern industrial, with a touch of steampunk. MIG welded heavy-duty steel for the frame and Blakley's Red Gum hardwood for the benchtop. The record player sits in a cradle so the deck is level with the top of the cabinet.
Cracks in the hardwood are filled with resin and black powder pigment. The door is made from 20mm square hollow section with a glass window and perforated steel mesh. LED lights under the timber help highlight the copper pipe feature, which provides a unique interface to the powerboard and USB charging outlet.
